Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Long ago when we drove from Texas to Seattle to pick up the Kitfox, we passed through a town call Coeur d'Alene. Even from the interstate it looked like a beautiful town with hills and a crystal blue lake. So on our trip west we decided to stay for a few days. It turned out to be well worth the effort. We were able to fly the plane, ride the bikes and take the boat out in our few days. The weather was perfect. As it turns out, a week later the area was choked in smoke. So we timed it well.

Our RV Park was on Blackwell Island and gave us direct access to the water. While this was the edge of the season, it was clear this is a huge boating mecca.

Many times when we are staying in an area for a while I let the Kitfox Facebook community know. It really paid off this time as a local Spokane Kitfox pilot was able to show me the area the Kitfox way. That is low and scenic.

Another flying adventure took me up to Priest Lake, which is about 10 miles from the border with Canada. Landing at the local airports was a lot of fun and the scenery was fantastic.

Ohhh, Eddie and I loved Idaho!!! Isn't it a beautiful state? We spent much time in Pocatello when he was working with the Nuclear science group! I did a lot of "antiquing" there! Loved it! Karen looks like she is feeling better! So glad!!!! Stay safe! :)

Welcome to our site.  We are Paul & Karen Depperschmidt.  In 2018 we decided that in retirement we would downsize, purge, get a Motor Coach and see North America.  In itself that is not unique.  So we complicated things a bit by including Paul's passion, aviation.  We will be pulling a custom trailer that includes our Kitfox Series 7 airplane.  Follow us as we travel the country and report on what we find.
